Pengwern Vale, Barber Hill and the Vivod Estate

29th March 2007

Walks Stats:

Distance: 9.85 miles (12 miles)

Climb: 2470' (3000')

Time: 5 hours 20 minutes (6 Hours)

Walking average: 2.7 mph (2.7 mph +?)

Group: Martyn, Richard, Michel, Gordon, Tim, Celia, Fran, Tito, Dave J and Sylvia.

The walk started off in dull cool conditions, but by the time that we had reached Pengwern Vale it had started to brighten up, and the walk finished in glorious sunshine. The only blemish was the fact that The Sun Inn was closed! However The Corn Mill was on better form providing the group with suitable liquid refreshment, Butter Tubs being the favourite, although Taffy's Tipple was also good.
The walk provided excellent views of the Eglwyseg and Trevor Escarpments.

On the way to the not so delightful lunch spot!

Tito, Fran and Richard. Did I get the bird?
